The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a possible fire at the Hollywood Hills mansion of Denzel Washington Wednesday night, after smoke was seen emerging from the four-story mansion’s second floor.
Thirty-eight Los Angeles firefighters along with one Beverly Hills crew searched the walls of the 29,000-square-foot home in the exclusive Beverly Crest neighborhood of LA.
“There is no fire and everyone is OK and safe,” Alan Neirob, Washington’s press representative, told USA TODAY in a statement.
Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras for the source of smoke. All occupants remained safely outside the residence during the process, the fire department report stated. No flames were seen, according to the LAFD report.
It was concluded the smoke was coming from one of the furnaces in the home that had been serviced recently and has now been taken off-line. There were no injuries and all occupants were allowed to re-enter the home, the fire department report stated.
