COVID-19: State, local officials warn of dire action if case counts continue to rise

State and local health officials on Tuesday called for action to stop a surge in COVID-19 cases, warning that a stay-home order could be restored for Washington state or other stronger measures if the trend cannot be reversed. Officials say that counties could be required to revert back to earlier phases under Gov. Jay Inslee’s open up plan that laid out a route to restart most economic activities. ‚ÄúNothing is off the table,” said Dr. John Wiesman, the secretary of health for Washington state.
