6 Carnival Cruise Ships Scheduled To Sail in 2020 [PHOTOS]


Carnival Cruise Line recently announced that if things go as planned, they will be sailing six ships from two Florida ports before the end of the year.

While exact details — such as itineraries and capacity levels — have not yet been revealed, we do now know which of their ships are hoping to sail.

1. Carnival Breeze

Carnival Breeze launched in 2012 as the third and final member 0f the Dream-class. Coming in at 130,000-gross registered tons, the ship sails to the Caribbean.

2. Carnival Conquest

Built to celebrate the arts and creativity, Carnival Elation weighs in at 71,909 gross registered tons.  The ship might be classified as “boutique with big ship fun.” She sails to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Carnival Elation may be a boutique-sized ship, but her thrills and fun are full sized. For water fun, check out the Carnival Waterworks water park which all guests can enjoy free of charge. There is also an arcade, casino, Dukes Piano Bar, and the relaxing Gatsby’s Bar, and more.

For the kids, there’s Carnival’s Camp Ocean, Circle C, and Club O2.

Carnival Elation Tip: If you sailed on the Carnival Elation before her FunShip 2.0 refit in 2017, you need to sail again. Not only was the ship modernized and updated throughout, but with the addition of 54 balcony suites,  you can feel the wind in your hair and enjoy the ocean view from your private terrace.

4. Carnival Horizon

Carnival’s newest ship Carnival Horizon was launched in Spring 2018.

The gorgeous Carnival Horizon is a member of the Vista Class, inspired by the sea and sky. Among the largest ships to ever sail for Carnival Cruise Line, Carnival Vista sails to the Caribbean from her home port of Miami, FL.

The Carnival Horizon is the ship to sail if you want non-stop fun and entertainment! The SkyRide, a suspended two-lane bike course,  the SportSquare ropes course and mini-golf at the SkyGreens. plus basketball, volleyball, and ping-pong are available on the top decks. If getting soaking wet sounds like your thing, then the WaterWorks water park is sure to thrill and excite. For a more relaxing time, the multiple swimming pools are perfect for cooling off.  

Indoors, the Punchliner Comedy Club, Vegas-style shows, live music, and even an IMAX theater at sea will make sure you’re never bored.

Carnival Horizon Tip:  For fun tropical drinks in a totally different atmosphere, head over to the Havana Bar where you can sample aged rums in a space with the look and feel of an old Havana resort. 

5. Carnival Liberty

Like her sister ships in the fleet, Carnival Liberty has two main restaurants that serve breakfast and dinner along with the tempting buffet located on the Lido deck. Guy’s Burger Joint and the BlueIguana Cantina serve up delicious food poolside. The 24-hour Pizza Pirate and Mongolian Wok are both located near the buffet on the Lido Deck and are definitely worth checking out.

Carnival ships are known for their atriums, and Carnival Liberty is no exception!

Carnival Liberty may offer short cruises, but she isn’t short on fun. The Venetian Theater offers Vegas-style shows. Throughout the day and night, you’ll find activities including bingo, live music, educational talks, game shows, trivia and many other events.

There are two pools, hot tubs, sun decks, and the adults-only Serenity area where you can truly relax and enjoy your day on the water. Dive-in Movies are shown at night around the main pool.

For kids, there’s Carnival’s Camp Ocean, Circle C, and Club O2.

6. Carnival Sunrise

Carnival Sunrise, a member of the Sunshine -class, packs in the fun on her voyages to the Caribbean and Bahamas, from Florida. The decor and color scheme are subdued and relaxing while great food, exciting activities and quiet spaces fill this beautiful ship.

The Steakhouse is an excellent location to have a romantic dinner or celebrate a special occasion. Of course, the main dining room and Lido buffet are available, plus the 24-hour Pizzaria del Capitano.

If being outdoors and soaking in the sun is your thing, the Carnival Sunrise has got you covered. Two twisting water slides provide exciting fun for kids of all ages in the Carnival Waterworks area, complemented by swimming pools and hot tubs.

Serenity, a special area reserved just for adults has loungers, sunbeds, clamshells, a pool to cool off in, and bar service. Indoor activities include shows, live music, comedians, and trivia.   

After dark, the piano bar keeps every visitor entertained and singing along, the Punchliner Comedy Club brings the laughs and Vegas-style shows play in the main lounge.   

Additionally, for the kids, there’s Carnival’s Camp Ocean, Circle C, and Club O2.

Carnival Sunrise Tip:  If you like to be close to the main promenade deck with all its fun and activities, but still enjoy getting some uninterrupted sleep, try cabins on Deck 6, the Upper Deck.
